Classic being classic means ‘Minor Digital Experiment’ isn’t a half-arsed attempt at a remix EP, it’s a glowing example of one, and thus we’re treated to some of the finest names around tackling a small selection of The Digital Kid versus The World’s LP tracks.
First off Audion & Ryan Elliott have been cajoled into their first collaborative effort for a rework of ‘Human Bean’ and the Ghostly pair really don’t disappoint. Chicago Damn, fresh from releases for his eponymous imprint and Midnight Love Club, delivers one of his well-judged slices of modern deep house with his version of ‘Total Control’. Tom Demac’s remix of ‘Angels Looking Down On Me’ is another quality outing from the producer who has turned many a head recently with his forward thinking use of analogue equipment. Snuff Crew are last up but continue the pressure with a melting electro reworking of ‘Ahhhrgh’ that hints at the originals angsty, melting melodies.
A wide range of remixes on this release already tried, tested and supported by the likes of Art Department, Seth Troxler, Brett Johnson, Matt Tolfrey, Dusky, Waze & Odyssey, Infinity Inc, Groove Armada, Paul Woolford, Jimpster and many more.
Meticulously designed but not without emotional pull, Jacob Ohrberg's subtle electronic music sounds like a dream of a distant dancefloor. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 1, 2023
